Jazz Pianist Larry McDonough Noon Wednesday, April 15 in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library

You are all cordially invited to meet and hear jazz pianist Larry McDonough over the noon hour this Wednesday, April 15, in the O’Shaughnessy Room of the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library.


This special 50th anniversary event features a local artist who is not only an accomplished musician, jazz pianist, vocalist, composer – he is an attorney and adjunct professor of law who has been recognized as “Super Lawyer” by Minnesota Law & Politics, Twin Cities Business Monthly, and Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. He has made significant contributions to poverty law and pulic interest work and to ensuring equal justice for all Minnesotans.
St. Paul jazz pianist, singer, arranger, and bandleader, Larry McDonough was a regular on the Twin Cities jazz scene in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He then cut back on public performances to raise three young daughters. McDonough reentered the jazz scene in the late 1990s first with the jazz fusion group Bozo Allegro, and then on his own with his criticlaly acclaimed solo piano CD, “Small Steps.”
His second solo piano and voice CD, “Tuscarora: Short Stories for Jazz Piano,” is dedicated to the memory of Paul and Sheila Wellstone.
