UST to host lecture on economic development in China

about_pic_print01_en[1]The Ping An School was formally established in 2006 to train employees of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., which was established in 1988 in Shekou, Shenzhen. The group is the first insurance company in China to have a shareholding structure. Today it has developed into an integrated financial services conglomerate with insurance, banking and investment businesses at its core.

A special lecture by Ms. Jessica Chen of Ping An School of Financial Services will take place at the University of St. Thomas on Monday, September 27. Ms. Chen will, with the aid of her translators, meet with UST Opus College of Business students at a reception, followed by a lecture in which you will learn about the incredible pace of economic development within the company and in China.

Ping An has about 417,000 life insurance sales agents, over 83,000 full-time employees, and a network of more than 3,800 branch offices. At the close of 2009, consolidated total assets and total equity of the Group were RMB 935.7 billion and RMB 91.7 billion, respectively. It posted total income of RMB 152.8 billion and net profit of RMB 14.5 billion in 2009. Ping An Life is the second largest life insurer in China by insurance income, while Ping An Property & Casualty is the second largest property and casualty insurer in China.
