THIS WEEK: The MN Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair

DON’T WAIT! Register for Employer Meetings at the MN Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair

The time is NOW to register for employer meetings at this year’s virtual MN Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair. If you wait, it might be too late! The fair will be held from 9am – 2am on Thursday, February 25th. If  you’re a Sophomore, Junior or Senior, we highly encourage you to click here and log into Handshake to sign up for the fair and begin registering for group and 1:1 sessions with employers ASAP. You must register for these sessions in advance of the fair – we cannot guarantee last minute availability on the day of the fair! 

Also note that only students who register for the fair by 4:00 pm on February 24th will be eligible for excused absences from their classes.

Attend our final MNPC Job & Internship Fair Prep Session on Wednesday, Feb 24 at 2:00 pm via Zoom to make sure you’re prepared for the fair!

Another great way to prep for the fair is to have your resume reviewed during Resumania! Stop in our Zoom room anytime between 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Tuesday the 23rd or Wednesday the 24th!

Career Week! Upcoming Workshops & Events

  • Resume & Cover Letter Writing: Does your resume pass the 6 second test? Attend this session to learn some essential resume and cover letter writing tips. Bring your existing resume if you have one. The workshop is on Zoom TODAY, Feb 22 from 12-12:30 pm.
  • Interviewing: Whether you’re interviewing virtually, by recorded interview, or safely in person, attend this session to learn some key tips for leaving a positive impression at your interview! Join us on Zoom on Tuesday, Feb 23 from 10:00-10:30 am. We’ll hold this workshop again on Friday, Feb 26 at 2:00 pm and Thursday, Mar 4 at 12:00 pm.
  • February Pop-Ins: You’ll need your resume in tip-top shape for virtual fairs and your job and internship searches this spring, and virtual Pop-Ins are one of the best places to have your application documents reviewed! What can you do With an Economics Degree?

The Economics Department and the Art History Department have collaborated to bring Colleen Boyle, Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager at Pall Mall Art Advisors, to virtually talk to you about the economic side of fine art. This is an excellent event for Economics and Art History students alike. Regardless of major (even those outside these two areas), there is much to be learned from Ms. Boyle about combining and pursuing your passions. Join us for this virtual event on TONIGHT, Feb 22, from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Employer Information Sessions 

  • KPMG: KPMG is holding a Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb 23 between 12:00 and 3:00 pm! If you’re interested in a position with KPMG, this is a great opportunity to network directly with people who work there. Register for the fair here.
  • Grant Thornton LLP: Meet with Grant Thornton University Recruiter, Jess Bishop to ask questions and learn about our current open opportunities for students with Accounting and Finance Majors. This Employer Chat will take place Tuesday, Mar 2 between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Students that RSVP and sign up for a time will be emailed a link to the virtual meeting the day before the Chat Session.  So, please sign up more than 24 hours in advance!

Career Spotlight: Park Rangers!

Do you love National Parks and the great outdoors? Learn what it’s like to have a career as a Park Ranger! From the Park Ranger who greets visitors at the gate to the Superintendent managing multiple large parks, all have an important role to play in making public lands inviting, inspiring, safe and accessible. Many Rangers plan and conduct engaging and interactive programs to educate visitors of all ages and backgrounds about historical, natural, or scientific treasures.
