Career Scoop for the Week of May 13, 2019

LOOKING FOR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT?
If you are not taking classes during the summer the time away from school provides a great opportunity to make income, build your resume, and network. A variety of organizations increase their hiring over the summer due to more business. As you brainstorm options think of seasonal businesses and services; amusement parks, city park and recreation departments, state fair, painting/exterior/grounds services for homes, cabins and boats, childcare programs/nanny.  In addition to talking to friends and family about ideas use TommieCareers as a tool in your search.

WONDERING ABOUT CAREER OPTIONS?
If you are one of the many students or alumni wondering how you might use your degree, spend some time this summer exploring Candid Careers. The website features profiles of professionals discussing their job duties, explaining how they got started in their career, and offering advice for YOU. It also contains specialized sections including information about “green” jobs, information for career changers, and a section on the Happiest Jobs in America.

We are open all summer so stop in to 123 Murray-Herrick or call 651-962-6763 to make an appointment.
