J-Term 2010 Study Abroad courses still available!!!

Attention Business Students:
Have you thought about getting out of the cold Minnesota winter in the month of January. Consider taking a course abroad. There are MANY J-Term courses abroad available for this January. Many of them will cover requirements that you need. Click on this link to view all of the J-Term course options abroad and the availability of each course. The application deadline is OCTOBER 2nd! That’s next Friday! If you have any questions, contact the International Education Center (IEC) at 651.962.6450.

Many of the available J-Term courses abroad cover core requirements – like THEO 300. Here are some examples:
Hiking the Pilgrimage Trail: Religion, Art and Experience in Spain (Theology 300 level Core) – 17 spots remaining
Islam and Christianity in the Kingdom of Jordan: Religious Traditions of Western Asia: Turkey and Jordan (Theology 300 level Core and Human Diversity Core) – 16 spots remaining
Islam and its Influence in Turkey (Theology 300 level Core and Human Diversity Core) – 9 spots remaining
John Paul II in His Polish Context (Theology 300 level Core) – 9 spots remaining

Also, if you are a Marketing major or a Finance major, Real Estate Market Analysis and Development Planning in Grand Cayman (10 spots remaining) will cover one of your major elective requirements. If you have any questions about whether or not a J-Term course abroad will work for any of your requirements, contact your business program advisor.

J-term 2009 Business Classes

The Opus College of Business is offering three classes on campus during J-term: MKTG 490, which serves as a MKTG elective, BLAW 352, a Business Law elective, and FINC 300, which is ONLY for business minors or other majors outside business. If you are a business major who needs FINC 321, DO NOT TAKE FINC 300.

London Launch – October 29 & 30

Have you been thinking about spending next Fall in London riding the Tube, experiencing English culture, going to the theater, traveling to Oxford…and of course taking classes. There will be two information sessions for London Business Semester 2009. The first will be Wednesday, October 29 from 12:15PM – 1:00PM in McNeely Hall 100 – The Great Room. The second will be on Thursday, October 30 from 12:15PM – 1:00PM in JRC 126. Come to learn about the London Business Semester, what it’s like in London, how to apply, etc. Below are the eligibility requirements for the London Business Semester:
Eligibility Requirements
Business major or minor
Junior or Senior standing at the time of the program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Completion of ACCT 205 or ACCT 210; ECON 251 and 252 and IDTH 220 prior to departure
Good disciplinary standing
Completion of a formal application and selection interview with staff from the International Education Center.
