The UST SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team and the UST Sustainability Committee are teaming together to promote RecycleMania!
RecycleMania is a friendly competition for colleges and universities that keeps track of recycling over a ten-week period. Schools report and are ranked based on who collects the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita, or have the highest recycling rate.
The SIFE team and the Sustainability Committee want to make sure that UST brings attention to our outstanding recycling habits in this great competition!
This Friday is “Green Friday”. Any students caught “green-handed” (recycling) will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous prize that will be announced at half-time of the men’s basketball game on Saturday.
Come to the “Green Game” on Saturday! Anyone who brings in three or more clean recyclables will be given a coupon for a free popcorn. Half-time of the basketball game will feature exciting recycling games and prizes!
SIFE is an international network of students and academic and business leaders who have made a committment to create a better world with better leaders. SIFE teams create outreach projects that teach market economics, entrepreneurship, business ethics, financial literacy, success skills, and environmental sustainability. Their goal is to address real world business and economic issues in their communities. If you are interested in becoming a member of the SIFE team, please contact Ashley Smith (aesmith@stthomas.edu).
The SIFE team and the Sustainability Committee would like to thank everyone for their support and recycling enthusiasm!

Make an appointment by calling 651-962-5544 or just dropping by the office. Second: YES, the phy ed and computer competency requirements have been DROPPED. It’s not a rumor!
