I had to do it. I had to write a blog about the Catholic Women’s Floor. The sixth floor of Dowling has taught me so much in these first two weeks, and I’m not just talking about how many different ways one can walk up six flights of stairs.
Week one of class at St. Thomas has been so great! My classes are fun, my professors (I keep wanting to call them teachers) are all nice and helpful, and I love the college life so much! You only have your first week of college once and I’m happy to report that mine was full of learning experiences, most of them funny, and I’m here to tell you some of the best.
I have three words for you: Minnesota is beautiful. Well of course it is, you say, it’s the land of the Tommies, isn’t it? While St. Thomas is the most beautiful campus in the world, there’s a nearby part of Summit that words cannot describe: the Mississippi River. Located only a block away from campus, a running/biking/rollerblading (brave souls) trail stretches along the river, but it is what’s beyond that cement trail that really captures the beauty of Minnesota.
There are many steps to the moving process and college is no exception. I personally went from a sunset-colored, corner room with a desk, a double closet, big dresser and queen sized bed to a neutral-colored room by an elevator with a desk, closet, three drawers, a lofted bed and super awesome futon. I had a wonderful move and have broken the fantastic process down into four steps: Home Sweet Home, On the Road Again, Where Do I Put Everything?! and, last but not least, New Adventures. Let the happy chaos begin!
