This past weekend I went to Notre Dame University. It was a blast. The football game was disappointing and Charlie probably lost his job on Saturday but it was such an experience to be at Notre Dame for a game weekend.
Friday night we went to the “Irish Green” or the pep fest celebrating the Seniors last game at Notre Dame. Then at midnight on Friday the Drum line gathered in the quad in front of the iconic Golden Dome and played for an hour and it was really quite the show. We also got to go say a few prayers at the Grotto that night.
Saturday was game day. It was cool to see the team all go to chapel together before the game and we followed the band right into the stadium. It is quite the experience to sit in the student section and chant “ here come the Irish – HERE COME THE IRISH” and then see them run out of the tunnel with the Irish Guard and the band there, touchdown Jesus in the background, and a beautiful sunny day in late November, it doesn’t get too much better than that.
Too bad that had to end today. After the car ride back I had to go back to the grind, with a USG council meeting this evening and about five hours date with the library. Definitely three more days of the school grind then THANKSGIVING!! Back to accounting for another hour or so… WISH ME LUCK
