Also consider PatchofLand.com , another crowdfunded real estate investment service. Fundrise and RealtyMogul are doing a great job trailblazing the new industry, but they both still focus primarily on the investment alone, while Patch of Land also concentrate on an "engagement" model. They are a crowdfunding real estate rental company that places long term renters into crowdfunded properties. They then keep their investors engaged and up to date daily with a level of control over each property through a share-voting mechanic. PatchofLand.com also focuses on smaller investors with a minimum bid of only $50 and they will release their beta project later this month.

I like Redesign's mission - you can't get much better than healthy neighborhoods and community. This sounds like a great location for property. I'm sure residents of Seward Commons will be excited about the proximity to public transportation. Thanks for this post.

A bit surprising to hear. I had assumed that the construction job market was on the rise with all the recent construction... and I guess it is according to the inaccuracies in tracking these jobs. Interesting read though, thanks for finding the time to share.

I was having a conversation with a mortgage broker a couple of years ago and he predicted that within a couple years there would be a shortage of listing due what is mentioned in your blog entry but also because he was doing quite a bit of home refinancing because owners, not thinking the market was going to rebound anytime soon, were taking equity out of their homes for remodeling purposes and deciding to live in their existing home rather than making a move.
