More computers at Ireland … help us name them!
Sick and tired of waiting to use a classic Ireland Library computer, well wait no more…WE GOT THREE NEW COMPUTERS…
But as the wise man once said, “more computers more problems.” We need to name each of the new additions to the reference room. As observant patrons, you might have noticed that each of our computers are named after a great Saint but in Alphabetical order, kinda like naming hurricanes but way cooler. The next letters are J, K, L.
So post your suggestions on this wall, or drop a note at the circulation desk and leave your legacy at the Ireland.

Jerome – Doctor of the Church, translator of the Bible into Latin (Vulgate)
Kateri- first Native American woman to be canonized by the Catholic church — this coming October 2012!
Linus – second bishop of Rome after St. Peter, but also the name of a cool Peanuts character.
Kudos, Cara! An ethnic woman’s name! Thank you!
Everyone, keep those names coming! We’ll have a poll soon to name these PC’s.
Here’s what I’ve got to throw in the ring:
Archbishop Mathias Loras, though technically not canonized, has had his cause introduced…. otherwise his father, Jean-Mathias Loras, was a martyr for remaining faithful to the Church during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution.
Jean-Pierre Aulneau was the first and only recorded martyr in Minnesota. He was killed a day’s journey out from Fort St. Charles on Lake of the Woods (which if it weren’t for a cartographer’s mistake and God’s Providence, would not be in the US).
And of course there is always St. Joan of Arc, a personal favorite of Archbishop Ireland…
I second Jerome and Kateri and add Lucy.
