What a difference a year makes!

Recently I was reflecting on how different my life is now than it was a year ago.  Last year at this time, I was about to start my 1L year at St. Thomas School of Law.  As excited as I was to begin my journey, I was also very nervous!  The law school setting seemed pretty intimidating and I hoped I would be able to keep up with the coursework.  Now, one year later, I can’t imagine my life without the law school!  This summer I spent my time taking a summer class (Wills, Trusts, and Estates – which Andrew blogged about earlier) and doing research for two of my law professors.  I also moved into a new apartment with a fellow law student who I met during orientation week.  In addition, I spent time with my boyfriend (who I met through St. Thomas More Society – a law school organization) and other friends I met in law classes and through student organizations.  My life is fully integrated with people from St. Thomas–and I’ve only been here a year.  I see now that there was no need to feel intimidated or stressed because there are people at the school who are willing to help in any way necessary.   With this knowledge, I am able to look forward to the start of the school year—and the new friends and opportunities it will bring!
