Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for great food and great company. Our very own Kate Herzog and the International Students Club make it possible for all students to enjoy the holiday with friends, even those who aren’t able to make a trip home.
For the second year in a row, Kate’s family shared their home and amazing food with UST MBA students and staff for the holiday. More than 20 MBAs stopped by!
Several students brought dishes from their home country. Kate’s family friend Michele (who studied culinary arts in San Francisco) also helped create some traditional Thanksgiving dishes with inspired twists. And just to be sure there was no shortage of amazing food as the celebration wound down, Kate’s husband Phil brought out his incredible homemade cheesecake.
The evening ended with four intense rounds of Catchphrase and quick game of Pass the Pigs. It was a special holiday for all of us. As Kate told me when we were leaving, “Not everyone has a home or a family here. But everyone should spend the holidays with friends and good food.” I am grateful to have had the chance to spend Thanksgiving with such great company in such an inviting home. But I am especially grateful to Kate Herzog for being so giving of her cooking, her home, and her holiday spirit.
