Conversations with the Fed 3/20

Curious about how the Federal Reserve is funded? Confused about how to read the Fed’s financial statements? Have questions about how the Fed is audited?FRB dude

Join Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Paul Rimmereid on March 20 for a discussion about the Fed’s 2013 Financial Statements.

Prior to Paul’s presentation at 7:00 pm, there are two optional events:

  • 5:30 pm Building Tour
    Participants will view major pieces of Bank artwork and visit the Cash viewing area. While the Cash department will not be operational at this time, participants will watch a video of the Cash operations.
  • 6:15 pm Fed 101 Presentation
    Regional Economist Toby Madden will give a brief overview of Federal Reserve System structure, covering topics such as how the Fed is governed and funded. He will also provide an overview of the Fed’s roles and responsibilities and will conclude with a Q&A session.

Participants can come for any or all of the three sessions. The event is free, but seating is limited. Those interested in attending must register for the event. Walk-in visitors will not be accepted.Doors for the event will open at 5:15 pm. If you plan to attend the tour, please arrive by 5:30 pm.

Employer Resume Books

All students need to upload to CareerLink their most current resume (that includes ABR, ACG cup, Hult competition, etc.… along with any other accomplishments) to CareerLink. We will be sending Resume Books  to employers. Please note – Resume Books will not include any student that is currently employed or has accepted a position. Also, if you don’t want to be included in the book, please email Linda Haas athaas0019@stthomas.edu.

GBCS is excited to announce two new services available to all University of St. Thomas Graduate Students.

Vault, a career intelligence site, and Glassdoor, an online career community.

Glassdoor.com is an online career community where past and current employees submit company reviews, salaries, and interview information.  Other great  job board and some really great blogs that give advice to new and experienced job seekers alike.
